Because the feast of All Saints falls on a Sunday this year, it replaces the Ordinary Sunday. As its title suggests, the feast celebrates not only those canonised as saints but all the faithful People of God who have come into the presence of God. The feast therefore is also about our destiny.

This Sunday we listen to yet another parable about a vineyard. But as the response to the psalm reminds us: The vineyard of the Lord is the House of Israel. The parable becomes for us a reminder that we are the ones now entrusted with the care of God's vineyard.

This Sunday we listen to another parable about a vineyard. The owner asks his two sons to go to the vineyard. The first said no, but later went. The second said yes, but did not go. For us the parable is about needing to act on our good intentions.
